On May 30, 1955, the New York Times reported (on page 7) that the show, which was being produced by Lemuel Ayers and John B. Ryan 3d, would go into rehearsal on August 1. No director, choreographer or cast members were mentioned. Backers audtiions had been being held since at least as far back as March 1954. The production may have still been having trouble obtaining full financing as it did not start rehearsals on August 1. Then Ayers died unexpectedly on August 14. The production was canceled.
