Because of the potentially offensive (to some) nature of the humor in the show, the media asked The Church of Latter Day Saints for a comment on the show. On 2/8/2011, they issue a statement saying, "The production may attempt to entertain audiences for an evening, but the Book of Mormon as a volume of scripture will change people's lives forever by bringing them closer to Christ."
