This tour was not a box-office success and it shut down early. A few months after it closed, the show went out on tour again, thsi time featuring Jim Dale and Glenn Close, but even with Jim Dale, the second attempt at a touring production did not do well at the box office and shut down after runs in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
