Trivia & History

The show was originally scheduled to open on Monday, September 27, but it was delayed tll September 29 when producer and author Harold Orlob decided to add a brief pre-Broadway tryout in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Then the opening was delayed again till Friday, October 1, as director Carl Randall (credited with staging, not directing) was replaced by Dora Maugham (who has no other Broadway credits as far as we can tell). With Randall went a member of the cast: specifically, his wife, Fanette Stalle, who was replaced by Irene Corlett.

When he was listed in the credits, Randall had received a "Staged by" credit. This, along with the fact that he was known primarily as a choreographer and performer, suggests that he also choreographed and staged the musical numbers. Dora Maugham, however, received a "Directed by" credit. After Randall left, no one was credited with choreographing or staging the musical numbers.
