According to reports in the New York Times, Pearl Palmer (cast as Grace Holbrook, the secondary female lead) was murdered by her fiancee, Herbert Heckler, on the day that had been scheduled for the opening, Sept. 27, 1915. The opening was delayed to Sept. 29, and Eva Fallon replaced her.
