The show was quite familiar to New York audiences by the time it reached Broadway. After 49 weeks in Chicago, "I Want to Be Happy" and "Tea for Two" had become standards. "Tea for Two" had already made it to the New York stage. In the show Big Boy (1925), one part called for a piano player to sit down at a piano and play something. The piano player chose "Tea for Two". One review called it the best song in the show.
