Trivia & History
When the production closed, Variety stated that it had played 851 performances (not counting previews), but we believe the correct total was 741. It may be that 851 was a typo for 741. Had the production played eight performances a week during every week of its run, it would have played 744 performances. But the production played a total of three fewer performances over the course of the run due to the holiday schedules around Christmas and New Year's.
