Synopsis

Mole leaves his burrow and befriends river-dwelling Rat, discovering the pleasures and perils of life along the water. With wise Badger’s help, they try to curb their exuberant friend Toad, whose fixation on motorcars leads to disaster, arrest, and escape. While Toad is gone, weasels seize Toad Hall. Mole, Rat, and Badger plan a secret-tunnel assault to reclaim the house. In victory, Toad learns humility, and harmony returns to the riverbank.
