Trivia & History

An All-Soldier Review which was the most successful of it's type until THIS IS THE ARMY, 1942.

See also ATTA BOY, 1918.

YIP, YIP, YAPHANK, aside from the usual skits, contained an exhibition bout with lightweight champion Benny Leonard.

The sheet music for 'Oh, How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning' credits ZIEGFELD FOLLIES OF 1919 but song writer Gene Buck says it was never used in the Ziegfeld shows.

'(I Can Always Find a Little Sunshine in) The Y.M.C.A.' was intended as a serious song sung by a lonely soldier writing home to his mother. Instead, it got laughs and was dropped shortly after the opening.
