Trivia & History

  • No program available. Song list from cast album.
  • The score for this version of Tom Jones was first heard on a studio-cast recording unconnected to any production. It is not known whether there any book or full script had been written when the recording was made. There was narration on the recording to put across the basic plot.
  • On February 13, 1968, a production of sorts appeared on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It appeared in an hour time slot, and there were commercials during that hour. From reviews of the production, it sounds like the production presented the score and narration, but no dialogue. According to the reviews, the production featured a full cast along with elaborate sets and costumes.
