Glamorous Hollywood star Jeanette Adair is in pursuit of a handsome young left-wing playwright, John Blake, who is trying to get a film made of his socially conscious play set in Kentucky. He falls in love, however, with Tata, an out-of-work Russian extra who wants to be a dancer. Trying to help everyone out is Bill, who is a “wienie,” or idea man for the studio. (Adapted from the synopsis in The Best Plays of 1938-1939.)
