Based on novel Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands by Jorge Amado. The popular Brazilian film version of the novel is not acknowledged as a source.

Synopsis

In Bahia during Carnaval, a lively widow remarries a kind-hearted pharmacist after her husband’s sudden death. On their first anniversary, the roguish ghost of her late spouse returns, reigniting the passion she once knew. Torn between the stability of her new life and the thrill of her past love, she faces a humorous and heartfelt journey through romance, loyalty, and desire.
