Based on the stories of Aladdin and Sinbad and the framing story of 1001 Nights.

Neither Aladdin nor The Voyages of Sinbad were actually in the original versions of 1001 Nights.  While they (as well as the popular Ali Baba tale) are most assuredly of Middle Eastern origin, they were only added to the collection after the first European version was published.
