When the production closed, Variety stated that it had played 31 previews and 4 performances. This was picked up by Theatre World and later by various online sources. Variety has sometimes been quite sloppy about counting the numbers of previews and performances played by shows, and this was one of those cases. The production seems to have played 44 previews, not 31. Indeed, if you look at Variety's totals for each individual week of the production's run, from the start of previews till the closing performance, it adds up to 44.
