Based on the play Juno and the Paycock by Sean O'Casey

In war-torn Dublin, a steadfast mother struggles to keep her household intact while her husband drinks away their resources and her children face personal crises. When the family learns of a large inheritance, hopes soar—only to be dashed by deception and misfortune. As political violence intensifies, she clings to her resolve, finding strength in the face of loss and uncertainty.

The show was completed in September 1957 but did not open for another two years.
