In a vibrant Caribbean town, two neighboring brothels vie for clients. A spirited young woman named Ottilie rejects a wealthy suitor and chooses to marry a humble mountain boy named Royal. The madam, angered by Ottilie’s choice, plots to dispose of Royal—but he escapes by hiding inside a barrel and taking refuge atop a turtle. Amid colorful carnival celebrations and steel-pan rhythms, Ottilie and Royal reunite, outwitting their adversaries and joining together in a joyous union.
