During the tryout, Helen Tamiris replaced Eugene Loring as the stager of the dances and musical numbers. Loring was reported to have been “called back to Hollywood.”
During the tryout, it was decided to add one more week in which to make further changes. The tryout had already played in New Haven and Boston, and it was currently in Philadelphia. As the Shubert in Philadelphia, where the show was playing, was booked for the week after the originally scheduled end of the Park Avenue run, the show transferred to the Erlanger in Philadelphia for the additional week.
